A woman commuter alleged to have been pushed onto the track at a railway station has told how she looked up to see a man laughing at her.

Linda Buchanan said her terror increased when Ionel Rapisca then jumped down to where she was lying injured.

"The only words that go through my head was I thought he was going to finish me off," she told a jury of seven men and five women.

"I started screaming. He jumped down next to me. He didn't speak to me. He didn't ask if I was OK. He didn't say sorry.

"He just got me by my right arm and started to drag me partly onto the platform."

Miss Buchanan suffered a fractured left wrist and bruising.

Maidstone Crown Court has heard Rapisca pushed Miss Buchanan, 58, onto the track at Farningham Road station in August 2008 after she complained about him smoking.

Miss Buchanan narrowly missed the 750-volt live rail just before the arrival of the 7.12am train to London Victoria.

Rapisca, of Joyce Green Lane, Dartford, denies causing grievous bodily harm with intent and alternative charges of inflicting grievous bodily harm and assault causing actual bodily harm.

The trial continues.
