County's bowls squad off to brisk start

KENT’S senior bowls team made an excellent start in defence of their Home Counties League title with a 138-108 shots success against Sussex at Sevenoaks. Kent won on five of the six rinks.

The league points system is two for each winning rink plus 10 for an overall win. Kent receive 20 and Sussex two.

Results:

Sean Coyle (Milton Regis), Colin Coomber (Gravesend), Steve Marrett (Bexley & Greenwich), Paul Barnicott (Milton Regis) won 26-17.

Taylor Monk (Bexley and Greenwich), Paul Woolford (Ashford Town), Chris Smith (Bromley), Alan Dunn (Sandwich) won 24-20.

Joe Kelly (Herne Bay), Kevin Bodman (Bexley & Greenwich), Lee Shoobridge (Milton Regis), Chris Hall (Milton Regis) won 21-15.

Lewis King (Milton Regis), Alec Evans (Lenham), Michael Goorde (Bromley), Mark Johnson (Milton Regis) lost 23-11.

David King (RBS), Ian Robb (Herne Bay), Michael Milgate (Tunbridge Wells), Roger

Howell (Chatham) won 26-22.

Andrew Boatwright (Horton Kirby), Geoff Bailey (RBS), Richard Hubbard (Sandwich), Roger Kendrick (AEI/Henley) won 30-11.

The senior side are back in action this Saturday when they take on Berkshire in the Home Counties competition at Three Mile Cross near Reading.
