THE Kent County FA have entered into a unique twinning agreement with the Botswana Football Association.
Following a series of exploratory meetings between KCFA chief executive Keith Masters and Dikang Phillip Makagalemele, president of the Botswana FA, England’s FA have given their blessing to the arrangement which will lead to cultural exchanges between the two Associations.
Mr Masters and KCFA head of coaching Alan Walker are scheduled to visit Botswana in September.
Mr Masters said: "I was asked by the FA if I would meet Mr Makagalemele with regard to setting up a twinning arrangement.
"He invited me to Botswana in October when I met with their Minister of Sport, officials of FIFA, the country’s Football Association and their Premier League.
"I put forward a couple of recommendations of how best they can derive income to keep the game in Botswana ticking over.
"What really struck me was the passion for football in Botswana and one of the things I urged them to do was to make all their football clubs focal points of their respective communities."
