A woman was left trapped in her car after crashing into the central reservation on the M2.

Two fire engines were called to the scene and her vehicle had to be winched backwards to allow her to be freed.

It happened on the London-bound carriageway between junction 3 for Chatham/Maidstone and junction 2 for Strood at around 1.40pm.

No other vehicles were involved.

The woman was passed into the car of paramedics and fire crews remained at the scene until 2.20pm.
