A young man injured in a boating accident in Greece is now in Darent Valley Hospital after an emergency flight home.

Adam Rose, 21, of Carsington Gardens, Wilmington, Dartford, flew home last night after sustaining near fatal injuries while on holiday in Zante.

As revealed in this week's Dartford Messenger, he suffered deep cuts to his hands, feet and groin as well as a severed coccyx after he fell overboard while on a boat trip, and hit the propeller.

He was given the all clear to fly after being assessed by nurses in Athens.

His mother Tracey Partridge, 51, and uncle took the first flight out after hearing of the accident and accompanied him home.

Tracey, pictured left with Adam, posted on Facebook in the early hours of today: "Many thanks people.

Adam only just been settled on a ward. Docs hopeful he won't be here long and with intense physio he should fully recover and if I know my son, it will be sooner rather than later

"He will need to see orthopods in the morning - there's some concern over his hands. Love u Adam xxx"

Adam's sister Natasha Bowbrick posted at 1.20am:"Words can't describe how happy I am that Adam is back. Was so nice seeing him and yes I did cry but happy tears!
