THE family of a Sheppey builder who died after being "shoved" over a sea wall at Leysdown say they will take legal action over allegations made about him.

Julie Baker, the sister of David Baker who died when he plunged over the wall near the Talk of the Town pub, said his relatives will take their case to the European Court of Human Rights.

Mark Glover, 32, of Chapel Street, Minster, admitted manslaughter at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday after witnesses saw him punch or shove 31-year-old Mr Baker. Glover was jailed for 18 months.

Miss Baker, who lives at Warden Bay, near Leysdown, said that during Glover's trial several allegations were made about her brother's behaviour on the night of his death which she and her family were unhappy about.

They plan to take legal action against Glover and other parties. Miss Baker described Glover's prison sentence as "diabolical". She said of her brother: "He was a loving father, son and brother."

Mr Baker, a partner in a family building business, would have celebrated his 32nd birthday this month. He lived at Warden Bay and leaves five children, aged three to 10.
