The defender has been an ever-present for the Gills this season after joining from Woking during the summer.

Only a back injury forced him off during the second half against Shrewsbury last weekend and Sinclair is hoping to be ready for Saturday's trip to Bradford.

He said: "I don’t think it could have gone any better. It’s always good to get a run of matches as the game can change so quickly. I hope to be OK for Saturday but I have to make sure it’s 100 per cent."

Sinclair has grown in confidence during his short spell at Priestfield.

Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler has admitted how impressed he is with Sinclair’s progression into the professional game and the feeling is clearly mutual.

"Coming out of non-league football, where I spent a few years, you look at League football and think you can play in it," added Sinclair.

"I was a bit nervous at first but the manager has put so much confidence and faith in me.

"Hess wants me to relax and enjoy my football. That’s the main thing. I’m determined to enjoy it."
