A family doctor has appeared in court today accused of sexually assaulting two women at a medical centre in Medway.

Dr Babatunde Oshinusi, 43, is accused of sexually assaulting two women at St Mary's Medical Centre, in Strood, in 2007 and 2010.

Oshinusi, who was suspended from work as a GP in 2010, appeared before Medway magistrates today after being charged in September with four counts of sexual assault, relating to the two alleged victims.

He also worked for Medway's out-of-hours service, MedOCC, but has been unable to work as an NHS GP since July 27, 2010.

Oshinusi, of Tunbury Avenue, Walderslade, Chatham, spoke only to confirm his name and address when he appeared and did not enter any pleas in relation to the allegations.

The case was adjourned and committed to Maidstone Crown Court.

Oshinusi, pictured above, was granted bail to appear there on Tuesday, November 13.

A spokesman for NHS Kent and Medway confirmed he was no longer working for them.

She said: "Mr Babatunde Oshinusi has been charged with four counts of sexual assault in relation to alleged incidents at St Mary's Medical Centre, Strood.

"He will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on November 13."
