Kent is in store for a washout weekend with a weather warning in force for the county.
The Met Office has issued a yellow alert for heavy downpours, which could also be thundery.
Forecasters say the rain today and tomorrow could lead to some localised flooding.
The Met Office said the rain should ease tonight - before further thundery downpours develop during Saturday.
A spokesman said: "The public should be aware that the resulting downpours may lead to localised flooding and potential disruption to transport and outdoor events."
Despite the wet weather, reports suggest hay fever sufferers could be facing five months of misery as Britain sneezes in the worst pollen levels for 50 years, warned Allergy UK.
