A BROTHER of Premier League footballer Tim Cahill has been found guilty of partially-blinding a "defenceless" clubber in a brawl.
Sean Cahill, a sibling of Everton's Australian international, knocked Chris Stapley unconscious by twice booting him in the face while he lay on the ground.
Cahill, 29, pierced the 31-year-old quantity surveyor’s right retina after leaving Delano’s nightclub in Bromley town centre, more than three years ago.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Australian was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Cahill, whose mum is Samoan, had claimed he was racially abused and trying to protect his younger brother.
But jurors agreed that he delivered the blows to Mr Stapley, whose blood, skin and hair were found on Cahill's toecap.
The incident happened after Cahill objected to Mr Stapley calling a young woman "sweet pea" outside a taxi rank in East Street at about 3am on Sunday, July 11, 2004.
Cahill was remanded in custody ahead of sentence in January.
