Former Gillingham keeper Lance Cronin agrees deal with League 2 rivals Bristol Rovers

Goalkeeper Lance Cronin has joined Gillingham’s League 2 rivals Bristol Rovers, subject to a medical.
The shot-stopper (pictured) was released by the Gills at the end of the season after just a year at Priestfield.
He was brought in by manager Andy Hessenthaler at the start of last season to provide competition for Alan Julian.
Both will now line up for rival clubs in the division after Julian’s release and subsequent return to his old club Stevenage.
Cronin, a former Crystal Palace trainee, failed to make an impact with the Gills and played just eight games for the club, having arrived with a good reputation following four successful seasons at Ebbsfleet United.
Gillingham had an option to extend the player’s contract for another season but declined to take that up.
The deal at Rovers will be ratified once Cronin has passed a medical.
