Four injured in crash

Four people were injured after two cars were involved in a collision in Cranbrook.

The accident happened on Sunday at 4pm on the A229, near Turnden Road.

A silver Vauxhall Astra and a silver Peugeot 306 collided, leaving four people injured.

A passenger in each of the cars had to be cut free by Kent Fire and Rescue Service. The woman passenger in the Peugeot suffered a serious head injury and was taken to a London hospital. The driver of the Peugeot, the driver and passenger of the Astra were taken to Maidstone Hospital with serious injuries.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and the vehicles were recovered. The road reopened around 9.30pm.

The condition of all four people is described as stable.
