Arriva bus company is offering free travel to members of the Armed Forces this Sunday.

In honour of Remembrance Sunday, those either in uniform or with a valid military ID will be given free admission all day across the whole of Kent.

Bus drivers will also be pulling over to partake in a two-minute silence at 11am.

This offer will help veterans and servicemen and women get to one of many remembrance events being held in the county this weekend.

These include 750,000 poppies being dropped over the White Cliffs of Dover near the Battle of Britain War Memorial, or one of the other ceremonies listed here.

Arriva area managing director, Oliver Monahan, said: “We are proud to offer the Armed Forces free travel on our services on Remembrance Sunday.

“As a business, we have a close relationship with the Royal British Legion, and our drivers will also be pulling over to partake in a two-minute silence at 11am, providing it is safe and legal to do so.”
