FYD: 'Dancing did for us'
Published: 08:00, 14 October 2010
The X Factor makers' insistence on making FYD a dance act was what cost the boyband their place on the show.
The group found themselves in the bottom three and were eliminated by the judges on Sunday, joining Nicolo Festa, who was booted out after recieving the fewest public votes.
The fivesome, made up of Matthew Newton, Kalvin Lamey, Alex Murdoch, Ryan-Lee Seager and Jordan Gabriel, are now set to make their debut UK performance at Maidstone's Liquid nightclub on Friday, October 15.
Ryan-Lee told the KM Group's What's On magazine and kmfm: "We just wish we had done a ballad for our 'save me' song. We were pushing for it.
"On the programme we were only shown doing dancey songs every single time and people will get bored of that.

"We did the best we could with (Rihanna's) Please Don't Stop The Music but a 'save me' song should be a ballad."
