Gillingham boss Mark Stimson is still hopeful of taking on Manchester United in the FA Cup

Gillingham boss Mark Stimson admits his hunt for new signings has so far drawn a blank.

Stimson (pictured) will have to be patient if he wants to add to his squad as he tries to bring in loan signings to strengthen his options.

"We’ve made enquiries but we’ve had ‘not at the moment’," said Stimson.

"If that changes they will come in and do a job and if not we will go with what we’ve got. There won’t be any new players in at the weekend."

Stimson is keen to find cover for Matt Fry, who returned to West Ham last week because of injury. He said: "I got the news of Matt Fry’s injury at 3.34pm on New Year’s Eve and was on the phone looking for a replacement at 3,35pm."
