Gillingham defender Barry Fuller may need an operation to fix a problem with his knee.

Fuller (pictured) will have a scan on Monday to find out the extent of his injury which was aggravated during last weekend’s win at Hereford.

He was rested on Saturday on medical advice and the Gills will find out this week how long he may need to be sidelined for.

Boss Andy Hessenthaler said: "Barry will have a scan to see if he needs an injection or if it is worse and needs surgery. We are not sure on that one.

"(The knee) has been giving him a bit of grief of late. He could have played on Saturday but the advice was to not play him and to let the knee completely settle down. The scan will show more if there is no swelling and so he needed to miss the game."

How big a loss to Gillingham would it be if Barry Fuller is not back soon? Have your say below.
