We’ve got a big weekend coming up and by Monday evening we will be closer to finding out where we are going to be playing next season.

We need to start the Easter period with a win over Barnet on Saturday.

Against Morecambe last weekend we were frustrated and came up against another good goalkeeper, who was in inspired form. We just couldn’t get the early breakthrough.

We kept knocking on the door and eventually scored with a great header from Cody McDonald and it was a great cross from John Nutter.

The substitutes came on and did really well. It was great to see Jack Payne and Luke Rooney impress. Maybe that’s the future of the midfield in years to come. They got on the ball and made us play a bit more.

Looking at the stats it was a game we deserved to win. We had 60 per cent of the play and plenty of chances but, who knows, come the end of the season it might turn out to be a good point.

We can’t get too ahead of ourselves and have to secure our place in the play-offs first because that’s not guaranteed.

Barnet come to Priestfield needing wins so that could suit us. It could leave more space for Cody to run into and for the big man (Akinfenwa) to get on the ball.

I went up to London on Sunday with the family to see the manager and give him our support in his marathon run.

I struggled to see him at first because he was that small. When we first spotted him he looked fresh but then at 12 miles when we saw him again he looked not as fresh!

Fair play to him, you have to hold your hands up and say it’s a great achievement. It was so hot out there.

There has been talk of myself and Ian Hendon joining in next year’s marathon with the physio and Ashley Lawrence, the witch doctor, but I am not sure the chairman will do it though.

He is never in the country long enough for the five hours needed to run it! They would have to have an aeroplane at the finish line for him to jump straight on to.
