Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler hopes his team can be the one everyone is talking about this weekend.

Hessenthaler, pictured, is attempting to plot the downfall of Premier League Stoke in their FA Cup third round match at a sold-out Priestfield on Saturday.

If the Gills can get a result against last year’s finalists, managed by their former boss Tony Pulis, it would be one of the club’s greatest upsets in their history.

Hessenthaler said: "I have been fortunate over the years to have been involved in a few FA Cup games and enjoyed some success. Let’s hope this weekend we can find ourselves talked about again.

"We are excited about pitting our wits against a side like Stoke in what is the best club competition in the world.

"It’s a competition people around the world talk about and if we could cause that upset at the weekend, then I am sure we will be talked about across the world."

Pulis’ team sit eighth in the Premier League but Hessenthaler said: "We are not here just to make the numbers up. We have planned to try and overcome a Premier League team and have good players at this club.

"If we don’t give it a good shot and we could have done better individually or as a group, then we will be disappointed."
