Manager Andy Hessenthaler has warned his Gillingham team that now could be the time he shakes things up.
The Gills have been on a 14-game unbeaten run but with nine draws in that sequence the manager knows his team could have done better.
A sloppy weekend performance in the home game against Hereford - a match which finished goalless - followed a run of several games where the Gills have started at a slow tempo.
Hessenthaler said: "Perhaps we need to freshen things up a little bit for the next game to kick us on again.
"We have a few players coming back from injury and there are a few knocking on the door on the bench who want to come into the side.
"The players have worked really hard to turn things around and we have put ourselves in a (good) position, but that’s why we might need to freshen things up, just because it is that critical stage now.
"We don’t want to throw all of our hard work out of the window. It might just need a fresh spark within the team."
Several of the team from the weekend were carrying knocks, with Adebayo Akinfenwa (pictured) nearly missing out with a groin injury and Curtis Weston experiencing problems in the same area.
Danny Spiller came off the bench despite suffering with sickness in the week and both Dennis Oli (knee) and Jack Payne (knee/ankle) were also pre-match doubts.
