Gillingham boss Mark Stimson will be asking for "more of the same" as he seeks to finally put an end to their dismal away form.

Stimson’s men head to League 1’s bottom side Stockport on Saturday in buoyant mood after slaying high-flying Huddersfield 2-0 at Priestfield last weekend.

Time is running out for the Gills to register an away win this season. They’ve drawn four and lost 13 of their 17 away league fixtures and just six more matches remain.

Stimson said: "It would be great if we could keep the same side and get near Saturday’s performance. We’ve brought a few bodies in of late and that’s added competition for places. That’s a good thing to have.

"Last week we had a different set-up and personnel and it was a good performance. They need to try and reproduce that.

"The boys have been upbeat in training and rightly so because Saturday was a good three points.

"Stockport have recently made a few loan signings, they’ve been decent and the results have improved since then.

"We just want to try and get as near as possible to Saturday’s performance and if we are near enough then we should get something. There is no reason to change anything."

Josh Gowling (hamstring) and Barry Fuller (arm) remain sidelined so Stimson is likely to name the same 18-man squad as he did against Huddersfield.
