Gillingham striker Danny Kedwell going for goals against former club AFC Wimbledon

Danny Kedwell celebrates his second goal against Burton Albion in Gillingham's 3-1 home win

Danny Kedwell will be aiming to shoot down the club that provided him with the platform to live out a boyhood dream.

Kedwell (pictured) returns to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday with the memories of scoring the winning goal to send them into the Football League fresh in the memory.

Just over four months ago he scored the deciding penalty in the Conference Premier play-off final shoot-out against Luton at the City of Manchester stadium.

In the summer he ended a successful three-year spell with the Dons to join his hometown club. Kedwell isn’t sure what kind of reception he will receive at Kingsmeadow but he will never forget his time at the club.

He said: "I am excited to be going back but I don’t know exactly what kind of reception I am going to get. I am looking forward to seeing their fans because they were good to me."

Kedwell’s two goals against Burton last weekend doubled his goal tally for the season and he’ll be looking to add to that this weekend.

"I wouldn’t celebrate on Saturday if I scored but I will certainly be trying because that’s my job," he added.
