With just 13 goals from 132 games, Dennis Oli’s spell at Gillingham has not been prolific but he remains convinced he has what it takes at this level.

The striker, pictured, has been plagued with injury problems since current manager Andy Hessenthaler took over at Priestfield and that has done him few favours.

Oli has started just one game this season and has yet to find the net - in stark contrast to the 2008-09 season when he was a key member of Mark Stimson’s promotion-winning team.

The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of this season but he remains confident that there is time left to show what he can do.

He said: "I have had a lot of problems with injuries over the last few years and now, touch wood, everything is behind me.

"I am just trying to work as hard as I can to get my fitness up.

"I have got a lot of self-belief and there are no doubts in my mind that I can do it at this level, I am more than capable. Hopefully, when I get a chance, I can prove it."
