A TEENAGE girl was attacked from behind, pushed to the ground and her mobile phone snatched as she walked along the Canterbury Road into Birchington.

Police believe the 17-year-old victim, from Westgate, near Margate, may have blacked out as the next thing she remembers is recovering and trying to flag down passing motorists.

She made her way to a nearby house from where police were called.

Det Con Pip Harvey is keen to hear from any motorists who saw the girl at the side of the road near King Ethelbert’s School where the attack happened shortly before 10pm on Thursday. Telephone 01843 222146.
