A young girl who had been trapped in a room for three hours was coaxed out within minutes of firefighters arriving.

One pump from Thameside was called to an address at The Old Yews, Longfield, at 8.20pm on Friday night following reports that an 11-year-old girl was in a downstairs office and unable to undo the lock.

Within five minutes of their arrival firefighters managed to get her to climb through a fanlight window.
