A FAMILY is coming to terms with the death of their teenage daughter who was found hanged in her bedroom on Christmas Day.

Amy Gilbert, 15, died in the early hours of last Wednesday morning at her home in Cecil Avenue, Sheerness.

She had been out with her parents on Christmas Eve but had fallen out with them when they said she could not go clubbing with friends. She was found hanging several hours later and pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, who were unable to resuscitate her.

A spokesman for Swale Police said: "The family are very, very distraught. It is an absolutely tragic incident."
