Give a pet a home
Published: 14:14, 01 April 2008
Every week we feature animals at the RSPCA Animal Centre, in Leybourne, who are in need of a new home.
He may be a lively lurcher but Worzel lives for his “mad five minutes”, and then puts his paws up for the rest of the day.
Some people contemplating taking in a dog in need of a home, might be put off by the idea that lurchers need an awful lot of exercise.
But in fact, once they have let off steam in a quick burst, they will soon wind down.
Worzel arrived at the RSPCA Animal Centre, in Leybourne, a month ago, after being taken from his home by Kent Police because it was believed he had been stolen.
He is aged about three or four, and is a lively dog but quite soppy with quirky ways, staff say.
He would make a lovely family pet and could go to a family that had children over the age of 10.
He could be rehomed with another dog, but can’t go with cats or small animals, as he won’t be able to fight his chasing instinct.
To meet Worzel, or any of the other animals, call 0300 1230751, or visit the centre in Castle Way, Leybourne, from 11am to 4pm daily except Wednesdays.
