New year, same freezing cold weather.

Kent County Council Highways team has warned motorists that road surface temperature is expected to drop below freezing tonight.

The gritters will be treating main roads tonight to help prevent ice and frost from forming.

Drivers should be wary of untreated roads overnight and into the morning where the surface could be slippery.

The council has said they should 'drive cautiously and be deliberate and slower in actions'.

The gritters will be heading out at 7pm and again at 3am tomorrow morning.

Medway Council has activated their severe weather emergency protocol which means they will provide emregency accomodation for the homeless.
