Hayes & Yeading 2 Welling United 1

Welling tasted defeat for the first time this season and saw their injury list grow on a disappointing afternoon at Kingfield Stadium.
Relegated from Blue Square Bet Premier last season, Hayes & Yeading had already gone close twice before they did take the lead on eight minutes. When a long ball eluded Kudus Oyenuga and Welling’s Ben Martin, Jerome Anderson stole in to lob the ball over Wings keeper Sam Mott.
At the other end, Joe Healy’s stinging volley was palmed out by James Beasant although the hosts could easily have doubled their lead. Sam Cox saw an effort flash just over, before Oyenuga hit the post.
To make matters worse, Welling had Jack Obersteller stretchered off with an ankle injury midway through the first-half, handing 17-year-old Barnie Williams an unexpected debut from the bench.
Four minutes before half-time, Ross Lafayette equalised for the visitors, meeting a weak Fraser Franks shot and back-heeling the ball into the net.
Parity lasted less than 30 seconds after the interval, however. Tobi Joseph raced clear for Hayes and set up Oyenuga to restore the home side’s lead.
Welling were outplayed in all departments although they could have snatched a draw when Lafayette and Harry Baker both went close.
Jamie Day’s side, already without Loui Fazakerley due to illness, reported Martin was struggling with knee and ankle problems after the final whistle.

Farnborough’s Nic Ciardini converted Dan Bennett’s cross to open the scoring on 34 minutes and then made it 2-0 with a shot which beat Bromley keeper Joe Welch at his near post.
Phillip Page hit the crossbar as the hosts went in search of a killer third goal.
After half-time, Bromley rallied. Ali Fuseini had an effort cleared off the line and Craig Bradshaw palmed out Danny Waldren’s free-kick.
The Lillywhites should have pulled a goal back when Oliver Treacher handled in the box, but Waldren had his penalty saved by Bradshaw.
Pierre Joseph-Dubois went closest for Bromley when his shot hit the post late on but Mark Goldberg’s side are still without a win in Blue Square Bet South.
