Home owners are being warned to be extra vigilant after three break-ins in the Walderslade area in two months.

Two of these took place at neighbouring houses in a small cul-de-sac, The Glade, while the third took place in an adjacent street, Sherwood Avenue.

The latest was in the early hours while the owner of the house was asleep upstairs. Thieves got away with several valuable items including a new widescreen television.

Neighbourhood Insp Mat Newton said:“I would like to emphasise the importance of remaining vigilant.

"Residents can speak to their local officers for useful crime prevention information via either the locally held surgeries or PACT meeting.”
