A MAN escaped from his blazing home by climbing through a window onto a flat roof. The 36-year-old was awakened by his wife returning from the pub and raising the alarm.

The fire, in Broad Street, Ramsgate, on Sunday night, started in a ground floor kitchen and caused £1,000 of damage. Police and fire experts are investigating.
