Eerie images taken from the sky have revealed how empty Kent's streets are during lockdown.

Aerial photographer Nigel Christian, from Paddock Wood, captured the photographs in an effort to document life during the coronavirus pandemic.

"I want to create a little exhibition on the other side of this," the 52-year-old said.

"All my branding and advertising has dropped off a cliff.

"I have started going out and putting stuff together. Some roads are really clear and some have been really busy."

The pictures reveal how typically busy roads have been impacted by the lockdown.

Seaside resorts including Whitstable and Margate, which would normally be packed on a sunny day, are also deserted.

Police have introduced a site for Kent residents to report breaches of the coronavirus lockdown measures when they see it.

Last weekend, empty car parks and clear roads were the scenes around Kent as people followed government advice and stayed at home.

The likes of Whitstable Harbour and Tankerton slopes appeared deserted in a sign that people are soaking up the sunshine from their own gardens.

The Whitstable Oyster Company apologised last month after crowds were pictured gathering outside its premises.
