I had a quiet day at Prenton Park on Saturday and that’s just the way I like it.

It was another clean sheet for me and the team against Tranmere Rovers and another win, of course.

There’s been a lot of talk about our record start to the season, and we learned we had a chance of making history for the club when the manager told us during our pre-match team meeting.

He made the point that we’ve made headlines for all the wrong reasons over the last few years, with two relegations in three seasons, and that it would be great for everyone connected with the club to get something positive on the board.

There is nothing like winning games, and it’s been a long time since everyone’s looked forward to games so much.

We had a great time after the final whistle with the fans who made the long trip to Liverpool last weekend, and I think the team spirit within the camp is really showing.

We’ve got some good goal celebrations going as well, although you feel a bit left out as a goalkeeper – one day I might surprise everyone and dash upfield to join in!

It was a joy to watch some of our play on Saturday, and the last couple of games has perhaps demonstrated the importance of good team play.

In an ideal world, everyone would play brilliantly in every game, but football isn’t like that. Different players have to step up to the plate in different matches.

Against Walsall the previous week, the contributions of our experienced players, such as Miguel Llera and Christian Dailly, were essential; against Tranmere it was the turn of our flair players to put on a bit of a show.

Long may that continue, and we’re looking for our winning run to last as long as possible.

We’ve had the same team in every league game, which has helped because we’re getting into a good rhythm in games, but we can’t afford to get carried away with what we’re doing.

Even when we’re playing well and dominating games, goalkeepers still have plenty to do, though.

Now we’re looking forward to Brentford, and a first opportunity to set our stall out for the rest of the teams in the league, who will no doubt be watching live on Sky. Five out of five wins is great, but six from six sounds ever better!­
