Mick Jagger returns to Dartford Grammar School

Kent-born Sir Mick Jagger has backed out of representing Britain at a tea party after complaining of being used as a "political football".

The Rolling Stones star, who was brought up in Dartford and went to Dartford Grammar School, had been due to help sell the nation at an international summit.

It was announced yesterday the raunchy rocker, who has fathered seven children by four women, was among high-profile names signed up to promote the UK at the tea party in Davos, Switzerland.

But in a statement last night, Sir Mick said he has "always avoided party politics" and declined the invitation.

The tea party is being hosted by Prime Minister David Cameron as he tries to plug Britain to other government and business leaders.
