Ten Kent athletes will get the chance to stake their claim for a place in the TeamGB track and field squad for the Olympics after being invited to take part in the British trials.

The Aviva 2012 Trials will take place at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham next month and local competitors were sent invitations to take part on Wednesday morning.

Commonwealth Games Gold medallist Lisa Dobriskey (pictured), from Romney Marsh, is on the list for the 1,500m heats on June 23 while Dartford Harriers AC heptathlete Grace Clements is on the list for the 100m Hurdles on June 24, where she will line-up alongide Jessica Ennis.

Ashford's Nick Leavey is among the invitees for the 400m the same day while Maidstone's Jack Green is in the field for the 400m hurdles and Tonbridge AC race-walker Tom Bosworth is included in the field for the 5k walk.

Chatham-born Montell Douglas - the British record holder for the 100m - is on the invite list for her event on June 22 while Maidstone student Andre Wright will run the men's 100m former Dartford Grammar School pupil Adam Gemili will take part in the men's 100m trials on June 22 and the 200m trials two days later.

The 18-year-old was European Junior silver-medallist over 100m last year and also set the fastest time by a European under-20 in the 200m.

Gillingham's Shaunagh Brown is invited to take part in the women's discus, shot put and hammer competitions on June 23 while Dartford's Scott Rider has been invited to take part in the men's shot the following day.
