Kent duo through to Beijing rowing final

Kent's paralympic rowers will race in Thursday's final after a strong performance in this afternoon's repechages at the Shun Yi Rowing Lake in Beijing.

The legs, trunk and arms mixed coxed four of Deal's James Morgan, Herne Bay's Alistair McKean, Vicki Hansford, Naomi Riches and Alan Sherman (cox) won their race comfortably, steadily pulling away from the field.

The 2007 world silver medallists finished ahead of Canada with a performance that suggests medal-winning form.

"I'd be disappointed with anything less than gold," said McKean. "It will be a pedigree final but if we race what we can, we can win.

"We are delighted because we had an awful row yesterday in the heat, said Morgan. "We were too psyched up and too eager to get on with it, so we didn't achieve what we can do. We have done today."
