Calls about neglected, abused or abandoned cats in Kent were made to the RSPCA almost every two hours last year.
Figures seen by KentOnline show the animal charity received more calls from the county than nearly any other part of the country.
It's cruelty line was contacted 4,212 times during 2018 - although it's feared the actual figure could be much higher following a change in how reports are recorded.

Only Greater London, the West Midlands, Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire had more reports about cats needing help.
Alice Potter, RSPCA’s cat welfare expert said: "It’s sad to see that we have received so many calls about cats in need.
"Cats end up needing our help for a variety of reasons, for example their natural curiosity can mean they need rescuing when they get into scrapes and tricky situations.
"There are also some real issues that we see time and again including cats and kittens being abandoned, cats having unplanned and unwanted pregnancies due to a lack of neutering and multi-cat households where breeding has sadly become out of control."
The charity rescues more cats than any other animal - including eight-week-old Sparky who got stuck in a car engine in Eccles.
Earlier this year, the charity admitted it was on the brink of a cat crisis after revealing more than 600 cats had been taken in last year after being abandoned in the county.
There are currently 150 cats in the county looking to be rehomed.
