Flood alerts have been issued across Kent due to high tides and strong winds.

People living in areas across the northern coast of the county have been told to be prepared, with tides due to be highest between 1pm and 2.30pm tomorrow (Sunday).

The Environment Agency has warned of flooding to promenades and coastal footpaths as well as low-lying land and roads.

The areas where warnings have been issues are:

Although high tide is from 1pm to 2.30pm, treacherous conditions may apply one to two hours either side of the high tide.

Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point and no flooding is expected from the hide tide overnight tonight.

The Environment Agency is closely monitoring the situation and its incident response staff will be checking and operating defences tomorrow.

People are advised to be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.
