The Met Office issues yellow weather warning for wind in Kent

People in Kent are being warned about strong winds that are due to hit the county this weekend.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning as gusts are expected to exceed 50mph.

People are being told to be especially careful between 4am and just before midnight on Saturday.

Kent is expected to be battered by wind

A statement from the weather authority explains: "Some transport disruption is likely across the warning area, with delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport.

"Short term loss of power and other services is also possible."

Coastal areas of the county are also being told to take care as the strong winds are expected to create larger waves with the potential for flooding.
