Kent is set to experience “unseasonably” hot weather this weekend.

The Met Office predicts temperatures in the UK will be getting hotter, with warm air moving across the country from the south.

On Saturday and Sunday, Kent could see highs of 22C with the hottest parts of the county being Dartford, Medway, Maidstone, and Canterbury as well as the coast.

Both are predicted to be dry days, and the weather is considered “unusually warm” for this time of year.

On Monday, temperatures could get as hot as 23° in some parts of the county including Canterbury.

“As it is outside of the summer season, not everyone will be able to access a lifeguarded beach so we’d like to remind people what to do if they find themselves struggling in the water.

“Remember to float to live. Tilt your head back with your ears submerged, try to relax and breathe normally, move your hands to help you stay afloat.

“When it is safe, then swim to safety or call for help. If you see someone else in danger at the coast, please call 999 or 112 and ask for the coastguard.”
