Kent's Mitch Winehouse picked up a gong on behalf of his late daughter Amy at the Grammy Awards last night.

The 60-year-old, from Greenhithe, received a standing ovation as he collected the award with his second wife Janis in Los Angeles.

Amy Winehouse was given the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award for the song Body and Soul with Tony Bennett.

She died of alcohol poisoning last July aged 27 after a battle with drink and drugs.

Mitch added: "We shouldn't be here. Our darling daughter should be here. These are the cards that we're dealt."
