The number of property millionaires in Kent is forecast to go beyond 11,000 by the end of next year as house prices are predicted to continue rising in the long term.

Previously considered a sign of extreme wealth, the aspiration of having assets of more than £1 million is becoming a reality for more and more homeowners.

A boom in million-pound households in the county is expected reach 11,270 next year, up 47% from 7,671 in 2015, according to a report by Santander analysed by Sellhousefast.uk.

The number is set to reach 30,338 by 2030, nearly quadruple the figure from 15 years earlier, said the study entitled Property Millionaires: The Growing Housing Divide.

It comes as an analysis by KentOnline shows the most expensive house in the county is on sale for just under £8 million.

The five-bedroom detached house in Penshurst, near Tonbridge, is a Queen Anne-style property built in 1990.

1. Penshurst, Tonbridge, £7,950,000

This five-bedroom Queen Anne-style home, named Redwood, is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with westerly views from its 18.5-acre parkland.

Built in 1990, it had two Regency-style wings added in 2005 as well as a detached three-bedroom lodge.

2. Bitchet Green, Sevenoaks, £6,500,000

Rooks Hill House is a seven-bedroom detached home in just under 11 acres of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

It was originally built in the early 1900s for Alexander Duckham, who founded Duckhams Oil, and was later to The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund in 1940, when it was used as a nursery for children of deceased or disabled members of aircrew.

3. Parkfield, Sevenoaks, £5,700,000

Rivendell is a six-bedroom Georgian-style detached house in about two-acres of secluded gardens.

Built in 2000 with later additions, it has a pool and guest house attached to the main building and a separate one-bedroom flat to the rear of the garage.

4. Cliff Road, Hythe, £5,500,000

This is a plot for a state-of-the-art modern five-bedroom eco-mansion which was given planning permission by Folkestone and Hythe District Council eight years ago.

The house, known as Ancona, is being marketed as a sustainable house powered by solar panels, featuring a pool and spa, wine cellar and views of the English Channel.

5. Woodnesborough, Sandwich, £4,500,000

Ringleton Manor is a six-bedroom home with its own leisure complex featuring a swimming pool, male and female changing rooms, a sauna, turkish bath, Jacuzzi and treatment room.

Mentioned in the Domesday Book, the main house has two cellars and a gym while guests can stay in a two-bedroom lodge. A separate cottage has its own bar.

6. Hosey Common Road, Westerham, £3,950,000

Crockham House is a nine-bedroom Grade II* listed home with an oast house which was used by monks for brewing beer.

In the 1930s, the property was owned by Alice Bowes-Lyon, a member of the aristocracy and during her time it is believed that the late Queen Mother used to play in the gardens, which were designed by Octavia Hill who co-founded the National Trust.

7. Pembury, Tunbridge Wells, £3,950,000

Pembury Hall is a six-bedroom 19th century country house sitting in nearly 28 acres.

It also has a detached coach house with a two-bedroom annexe, a heated swimming pool, stunning glazed pool room and an all-weather tennis court.

8. Petham, Canterbury, £3,550,000

Petham House is a five-bedroom Grade II listed home with a gym and games room in a 10-acre park.

Also for sale are nearly 39 acres of parkland, which is currently grazed by sheep under an agreement with a local farmer.

9. Kearsney , Dover, £3,500,000

Kearsney Manor is a 59-bedroom home which has been owned by the Sisters of the Christian Retreat, a registered charity, since 1981.

It is thought this is the first time the home, set in seven acres of parkland, has been on the market since 1902.

10. Luddesdown, Gravesend, £3,500,000

Dating back to the 1000-1100s, Luddesdown Court is a Grade I listed five-bedroom house built in flint and stone.
