The company offering flights to Jersey from Kent International Airport at Manston has confirmed that it will be operating the route again next year.

CI Travel Holdings has been delighted with the response from the county’s residents with interest in the route extremely high and sales ahead of projections.

Managing director Peter Drew said: “Overall our flights for the summer season are on average over 80 per cent full – a figure that will only get higher with further bookings.

“This is an excellent return for a new route and very pleasing, especially as it hasn’t been the easiest year in which to launch – for a number of reasons beyond the industry’s control. Sales have shown there is a strong demand for the flights from Kent to Jersey and another positive from our point of view is that customers haven’t just been booking flights, they have been opting for holiday packages.”

KIA chief executive Matt Clarke said: “This confirmation that the Jersey route is guaranteed for next year is great news for Kent’s holidaymakers.”
