RELATIVES and friends of a man killed on the notorious A228 at Grain, near Strood, at the weekend have laid flowers at the spot where he died.
Three bunches of flowers mark the spot on the A228 where Alexander Diggory, the third victim of the road this year, perished.
At 1am on Friday morning, 53-year-old Mr Diggory became the 29th person to die on the killer road.
He was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision in his blue Metro with a lorry at the junction with Thamesport. He lived alone in Grain High Street but was well known in the village. He had worked at the Cat and Cracker pub in the High Street before it closed.
The Belgian had one son who lived in his homeland and four sisters living in the Medway Towns area who have made the arrangements for his funeral.
