SHEPPEY bowler Wendy King has picked up her second national title as she and her team-mates won the All England National Bowls Triples Championship held in Warwickshire.
King, from Halfway, Sheerness, went to the tournament as Kent triples champions with Linda Ryan and Yvonne Wallington.
Winners and runners-up of county championships from around the country congregated in Leamington Spa for the event.
King, 38, a former St George's of Sheerness club player, now plays for Civil Service of Gillingham.
She said: "I began playing in 1989 and two years ago joined Linda and Yvonne in Medway. This was only the second time we have played together so when we won the feeling was unbelievable.
"To be honest we were quite ecstatic. Even though the three of us had been part of the four who won the National Indoors Championships this event was special because you need an element of luck when playing outside."
King and Co beat Devon convincingly 20-8 on their way to the final against Rusden of Northampton who were also swept aside 23-13.
The trio will now represent England in the British Isles Championships in Wales next year.
