Firefighters had to part-dismantle a brick wall to rescue a kitten stuck between two houses.
The black cat, called Jet, had ended up in a tiny gap between two houses at Knatchbull Close,
Brabourne on Thursday and firefighters were called out just after 7pm.
An Ashford Fire Station spokesman said: “The owners had noticed that the cat had been missing since about 12.30pm and it was found in an extremely narrow gap between two walls. It was in a very precarious place.
“Our crew had to gain access to the garage of one of the properties and part-dismantle it, taking away the breeze blocks.”
Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment, a drill and hand tools.
The crew was at the scene for an hour and a half and the kitten was rescued, distressed but unhurt.
