Four siblings who tragically lost their mum just a month ago are today's winners of kmfm's Make Someone's Christmas campaign.
Kmfm teamed up with Kent Reliance to bring a bit of cheer to people who needed help this Christmas.
DJ Rob Wills said: "Christmas is a time to come together, celebrate and spoil each other but this isn’t always possible for everyone. We want to change that."
This evening Rob spoke to 17-year-old Ashley Carr, who was nominated alongside her three brothers by family friend Kyra O'Sheen after their mum passed away last month.
In her nomination Kyra said: "I can see the struggles they are going through and it breaks my heart, and they really deserve something to lift their spirits and give them something to smile about."
Rob called Eddie Kemsley, the CEO of Dreamland, who has given the family free run of the park with food and prizes for an afternoon before Christmas to give them a chance to have fun and forget about their worries for a few hours.
The campaign has been running since December 1, and previous winners include:
- Chloe Julian from Gillingham, nominated by her husband Steve for being a fantastic mum to her kids whilst prepping to go back to teaching in Medway. Steve made her Christmas by sending Chloe on a spa day.
- Keith Bonner from Gillingham nominated by his daughter Debbie Barnes after losing his wife and her mum suddenly in the summer. Keith has taken up DIY to take his mind off of things going on in his life, and wanted to build a special place in the garden to remember them. Kmfm sent him money for B&Q to sort that out.
- Sam Nix from Tonbridge nominated her children for being super kids this year. She wanted a garden house for them to play in. Done!
Rob said: "Is there someone you’d love to spend Christmas with but can’t? Does mum deserve a year off from cooking Christmas dinner?
"Want to pop the question but need a little help making your proposal extra special? Do you know a family struggling to give their kids the Christmas they‘d like to?
"Fancy blowing off the winter weather and taking your family for some festive sun? Nominate someone now."
To nominate someone use the form at or leave a voicemail nomination on 01622 794577.
Nominations are open until 14th December at 5pm.
Make Someone's Christmas is on every night on kmfm drivetime with Rob at 6pm.
