Determined, brave and inspiring youngsters are being sought for awards which recognise the most courageous children in Kent.

Young fundraisers, carers and outstanding charities are also wanted by Children’s Awards judges which are keen to celebrate their admirable efforts.

The Children’s Awards are back for another year in Kent – and nominations are now open for all categories.

From recognition for brave and courageous babies and toddlers through to children and teens – we want to shed light on them all.

Alongside this, organisers of the annual awards also want to showcase the essential work being undertaken by Kent’s incredible charities and the grit and determination being shown by families who are having to cope with a severe illness or disability

There’s also a new award for 2024 – Young Hero of the Year – which is seeking children who were brave in the face of adversity and showed real heroism.

The Children's Awards, organised by estate agent Wards, are supported by the KM Group and the Kent Community Foundation.

Aldo Sotgiu, MD of Wards said: “It’s a real privilege to be able to deliver the Wards Annual Children’s Awards and over the years it’s become one of the highlights of our year because it gives us the opportunity of recognising many outstanding achievements of children and their families across a whole range of categories.

"Each year we pick a different theme and the winners, their families and guests get invited to prestigious gala awards which for many is the first occasion they have had any recognition about the challenges and difficulties they’ve had to overcome , often from a very young age.

"The difficult task we have is picking from the dozens and dozens of nominations that come in reinforcing the importance of providing a platform to recognise people”.

If you know someone deserving of an award - we'd like you to tell us about them as soon as possible. You only need to nominate an individual once - with final winners being decided by a judging panel and not by the number of nominations they receive.

The closing date for nominations is Friday, May 10 and votes can be put forward by family members, friends, neighbours, schools as well as outside groups, clubs, teachers and sports coaches.
