Long delays were reported and bus services were disrupted after a van fire in Maidstone.

Traffic was queuing on the A20 Ashford Road after a van burst into flames in nearby Broomfield Road blocking the carriageway in both directions.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called shortly after 3.30pm and crews put the blaze out with a hose reel jet.

Stagecoach's 10X bus service faced delays as a result.

Nobody was injured and the cause is not yet known.

Fire crews left around 4.15pm.
