A BUS ended up in a ditch following a collision with a car on the A229 on the outskirts of Staplehurst.

The Arriva bus, carrying 10 passengers and the Mitsubishi car, met on a steep bend coming out of Staplehurst at about midday on Thursday.

Kent Ambulance and fire crews were called to the scene. None of the people involved was badly hurt and everyone was dropped off at destination after being checked for injury.

Police closed off the road from Staplehurst to Knoxbridge at the junction with Pinnock Lane.
