Kent athletes were among the medals as the British Masters held their national 10,000m track championships at Oxford on Sunday.

There were races for age groups over 35 and in the M40 silver went to former Tonbridge stalwart Huw Evans (34.01.05), who is now settled back in Wales.

Sharon Hawkins (pictured), racing in the women’s 45 age group, (Maidstone Harriers 40.12.33) took silver, missing the gold by just five seconds.

Tony Tuohy (Dulwich Runners, 35.11.05) was second in the M50 category but M60 Peter Hamilton (Blackheath and Bromley, 40.28.73) missed out with fifth in a competitive race.

Former Bexley athlete, Kaeti Anne Mackenzie (Barnsley, 38.09.04), won the W35 race with a personal best.

Vicky Talbot Rosner (Invicta, 43.44.65) was fourth in the W50 race with a season’s best.
